## TL;DR

This paper investigates measures of complexity for self-correspondences on algebraic varieties and addresses a specific question about curves in hyperelliptic curve squares.

## Contribution

It introduces new complexity measures for self-correspondences and provides an answer to Rhyd's question about hyperelliptic curves.

## Key findings

- Developed measures of complexity for algebraic self-correspondences
- Answered Rhyd's question on curves in hyperelliptic curve squares
- Extended understanding of algebraic variety correspondences

## Abstract

Following a suggestion of Jordan Ellenberg, we study measures of complexity for self-correspondences of some classes of varieties. We also answer a question of Rhyd concerning curves sitting in the square of a very general hyperelliptic curve.
