TL;DR
This paper constructs an $ =1$ supersymmetric field theory that is dual to $ =4$ super Yang-Mills with gauge group $SU(2n+1)$, revealing insights into the structure of strongly-coupled SCFTs and their conformal manifolds.
Contribution
It introduces a novel $ =1$ SCFT dual to $ =4$ SYM via diagonal gauging of Argyres-Douglas type theories, explaining the $a=c$ coincidence in some SCFTs.
Findings
The $ =1$ theory flows to a strongly-coupled SCFT on the same conformal manifold as $ =4$ SYM.
The construction provides a new perspective on dualities involving $ =1$ and $ =4$ supersymmetry.
Insights into why certain $ =1,2$ SCFTs have equal central charges.
Abstract
We discover a four-dimensional supersymmetric field theory that is dual to the super Yang-Mills theory with gauge group for each . The dual theory is constructed through the diagonal gauging of the flavor symmetry of three copies of a strongly-coupled superconformal field theory (SCFT) of Argyres-Douglas type. We find that this theory flows in the infrared to a strongly-coupled SCFT that lies on the same conformal manifold as super Yang-Mills with gauge group . Our construction provides a hint on why certain SCFTs have identical central charges ().
