Search for leptonic charge asymmetry in $t\bar{t}W$ production in final states with three leptons at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV
ATLAS Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper searches for leptonic charge asymmetry in top-quark pair production with an associated W boson at 13 TeV, using ATLAS data, and finds results consistent with Standard Model predictions.
Contribution
First measurement of leptonic charge asymmetry in t-tbar-W production at 13 TeV with detailed analysis and unfolding to particle level.
Findings
Measured asymmetry at reconstruction level: -0.123 ± 0.136 (stat) ± 0.051 (syst)
Unfolded asymmetry at particle level: -0.112 ± 0.170 (stat) ± 0.054 (syst)
Results agree with Standard Model expectations.
Abstract
A search for the leptonic charge asymmetry () of top-quarkantiquark pair production in association with a boson () is presented. The search is performed using final states with exactly three charged light leptons (electrons or muons) and is based on TeV protonproton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN during the years 20152018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb. A profile-likelihood fit to the event yields in multiple regions corresponding to positive and negative differences between the pseudorapidities of the charged leptons from top-quark and top-antiquark decays is used to extract the charge asymmetry. At reconstruction level, the asymmetry is found to be (stat.) (syst.). An unfolding procedure is applied to convert…
