Search for the rare decays $W^+ \to D^+_s\gamma$ and $Z \to D^0\gamma$ at LHCb
LHCb collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for rare W and Z boson decays into D mesons and a photon at LHCb, setting new upper limits on their branching fractions due to no observed signals.
Contribution
First search for Z to D0 gamma decay and improved upper limit on W to D_s gamma decay at LHCb.
Findings
No significant signals observed for the decays.
Upper limits set at 6.5×10⁻⁴ for W decay.
Upper limits set at 2.1×10⁻³ for Z decay.
Abstract
A search for the rare decays and is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb. No significant signal is observed for either decay mode and upper limits on their branching fractions are set using and decays as normalization channels. The upper limits are and at 95% confidence level for the and decay modes, respectively. This is the first reported search for the decay, while the upper limit on the branching fraction improves upon the previous best limit.
