TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that complete $lpha^{}$ corrections can smooth out singularities in 2D string black holes, providing exact non-perturbative solutions that improve understanding of black hole singularity resolution in string theory.
Contribution
The work offers the first explicit construction of non-singular 2D black hole solutions incorporating all $lpha^{}$ corrections, advancing the study of black hole singularity resolution.
Findings
Derived classes of exact non-singular 2D black hole solutions
Showed complete $lpha^{}$ corrections remove singularities
Enhanced understanding of black hole structure in string theory
Abstract
In string theory, an important challenge is to show if the singularity of black holes can be smoothed out by the complete corrections. The simplest case is to consider a 2D string black hole or 3D black string. This problem was discussed in a gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) model and the results are supposed to be correct to all orders in corrections. Based on the recent remarkable progress on classifying all the corrections, in this work, we re-study this problem with the low energy effective spacetime action, and provide classes of exact non-perturbative and non-singular solutions of the 2D black hole via complete corrections.
