Multiphase Unified Flash Analysis and Stability Algorithm (MUFASA): An Open-Source Software
Ali Zidane

TL;DR
MUFASA is an open-source software tool that performs multiphase flash calculations using PR-EOS, supporting two to four phases with a geometric solution for four-phase cases, aiding researchers and engineers.
Contribution
This paper introduces MUFASA, an open-source software for multiphase flash calculations, including a novel geometric approach for four-phase analysis.
Findings
Supports two, three, and four-phase flash calculations
Uses Peng-Robinson EOS for accurate thermodynamic modeling
Provides step-by-step instructions and example replication
Abstract
This paper is the manual for an open source software that performs multiphase split calculations. The provided software performs two-phase, three-phase and four-phase flash calculations. The calculations are based on the Peng-Robinson equation of state (PR-EOS). The four-phase calculation is achieved using a geometrical solution in 3D for Rachford-Rice equations. The paper includes a link to download the software and a step by step instructions are provided to replicate an example from the literature.
