Production of ${\rm K}^{0}_{\rm{S}}$, $\Lambda$ ($\bar{\Lambda}$), $\Xi^{\pm}$ and $\Omega^{\pm}$ in jets and in the underlying event in pp and p$-$Pb collisions
ALICE Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper measures strange hadron production in jets and the underlying event in pp and p-Pb collisions at LHC energies, revealing differences from inclusive production and challenging current hadronization models.
Contribution
First measurement of multi-strange hadron production in jets and underlying events, providing new constraints on hadronization models in high-energy collisions.
Findings
Baryon-to-meson and baryon-to-baryon ratios differ in jets versus inclusive production.
PYTHIA 8 models do not fully reproduce the observed data, especially for multi-strange hadrons.
No significant event-multiplicity dependence in particle production within jets in p-Pb collisions.
Abstract
The production of strange hadrons (K, , , and ), baryon-to-meson ratios (, , and ), and baryon-to-baryon ratios (, , and ) associated with jets and the underlying event were measured as a function of transverse momentum () in pp collisions at TeV and p-Pb collisions at TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The inclusive production of the same particle species and the corresponding ratios are also reported. The production of multi-strange hadrons, and , and their associated particle ratios in jets and in the underlying event are measured for the first time. In both pp and p-Pb collisions, the baryon-to-meson and baryon-to-baryon yield ratios…
