$K\to \mu^{+} \mu^{-}$ as a third kaon golden mode
Avital Dery

TL;DR
The paper discusses how the rare decay $K o \mu^+\mu^-$ can be used as a precise probe of short-distance physics, CKM parameters, and new physics scenarios through time-dependent interference effects.
Contribution
It reviews the methodology for extracting short-distance information from $K o \mu^+\mu^-$ decay and explores its sensitivity to CKM parameters and new physics.
Findings
Decay provides clean short-distance information
Time-dependent interference enhances sensitivity
Potential to probe CKM and NP scenarios
Abstract
Recent progress has demonstrated that the decay carries clean short-distance information, attainable from a measurement of time-dependence sensitive to interference effects. We review the ingredients that go into this proposed extraction, and discuss the sensitivity to the CKM parameter as well as to various NP scenarios.
