TL;DR
This paper develops a phenomenological model to describe the magnitudes and phases of the $ ext{pi}^- ext{pi}^+$ S-wave amplitudes in specific D meson decays, fitting experimental data within coupled-channel interactions.
Contribution
It introduces a simple, energy-independent seed amplitude model that accurately fits the energy dependence of S-wave amplitudes in D meson decays, addressing phase issues.
Findings
Model fits the experimental data well.
Describes the energy dependence of S-wave amplitudes.
Addresses the phase problem in decay analyses.
Abstract
We present a phenomenological description of the LHCb data for the magnitudes and phases of the -wave amplitudes in the and decays. We operate within a simple model that takes into account the known pair interactions of particles in coupled channels. The seed complex amplitudes for various intermediate state production are assumed to be independent of the energy. Their values are determined by fitting. This model gives the satisfactorily description of virtually all features of the energy dependence of the experimentally measured -wave amplitudes in the and decays in the regions and , respectively.
