Similarity among the 2D-shapes and the analysis of dissimilarity scores
Karel Zimmermann

TL;DR
This paper introduces a straightforward method for measuring dissimilarities among 2D shapes, along with techniques for interpreting and visualizing the resulting dissimilarity matrices.
Contribution
It presents a novel, simple approach to quantify and analyze shape dissimilarities, including visualization methods for better interpretation.
Findings
Effective dissimilarity measurement among 2D shapes
Comparison of visualization techniques for dissimilarity matrices
Method demonstrates intuitive understanding of shape differences
Abstract
We present a conceptually simple and intuitive method to calculate and to measure the dissimilarities among 2D shapes. Several methods to interpret and to visualize the resulting dissimilarity matrix are presented and compared.
