The reification of the word against science
Luigi Foschini

TL;DR
This paper argues that the stagnation in foundational physics research is partly due to reifying language and mathematics, which leads to focusing on incorrect questions.
Contribution
It highlights the impact of reifying language and mathematics on research directions, proposing this as a cause of stagnation in physics foundations.
Findings
Reification of language hampers scientific progress
Mathematical reification directs research towards wrong questions
Addressing language reification could revitalize foundational physics
Abstract
Research in foundations of physics is stagnant, as claimed by many scientists during the last years. I suggest that one reason might be the reification of language, particularly of mathematics, which favour the search for answers to wrong questions.
