Jet-like correlations with respect to K$^{0}_{\rm S}$ and $\Lambda$ ($\bar{\Lambda}$) in pp and central Pb-Pb collisions at $\mathbf{\it\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration

TL;DR
This study investigates jet-like correlations with strange hadrons in proton-proton and lead-lead collisions at 5.02 TeV, revealing suppression and enhancement patterns indicative of in-medium energy loss and medium response.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed comparison of jet-like correlations with ${ m K}^{0}_{ m S}$ and $ m \Lambda$ baryons to inclusive charged hadrons in Pb-Pb collisions at this energy.
Findings
Strong suppression of away-side yields in Pb-Pb collisions at high $p_T$
Enhancement of near and away-side yields at low $p_T$
Good agreement with previous measurements and Monte Carlo models
Abstract
Two-particle correlations with , /, and charged hadrons as trigger particles in the transverse momentum range GeV/, and associated charged particles within GeV/, are studied at mid-rapidity in pp and central Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon collision TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. After subtracting the contributions of the flow background, the per-trigger yields are extracted on both the near and away sides, and the ratio in Pb-Pb collisions with respect to pp collisions () is computed. The per-trigger yield in Pb-Pb collisions on the away side is strongly suppressed to the level of for GeV/ as expected from strong in-medium energy loss,…
