TL;DR
This paper measures the cross sections and form factors for $e^+e^-$ annihilation into $\Sigma$ hyperon pairs using initial state radiation at Belle, and observes $J/\\\psi$ decays into these hyperons.
Contribution
It provides the first measurements of these processes over a range of energies and observes specific charmonium decays, enhancing understanding of hyperon production and charmonium decay modes.
Findings
Measured cross sections from threshold to 3 GeV/c^2
Determined effective form factors for $\\Sigma^0$ and $\\Sigma^+$
Observed $J/\\psi$ decays into hyperon pairs and measured branching fractions
Abstract
The processes and are studied using initial-state-radiation events in a sample of 980 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The cross sections from the mass threshold to and the effective form factors of and are measured. In the charmonium region, we observe the decays and and determine the respective branching fractions.
