TL;DR
This paper investigates the production of the $d_{N ext{Omega}}$ dibaryon in kaon-induced reactions, estimating cross sections and proposing experimental detection methods at high-energy facilities.
Contribution
It provides the first estimates of production cross sections for the $d_{N ext{Omega}}$ dibaryon in kaon-proton collisions and suggests experimental signatures for its observation.
Findings
Cross sections are estimated to be several hundred nanobarns at 20 GeV kaon momentum.
The $d_{N ext{Omega}}$ dibaryon decays into $ ext{Xi} ext{Lambda}$ and $ ext{Xi} ext{Sigma}$ channels.
Potential experimental detection via invariant mass distributions at existing high-energy facilities.
Abstract
In this work, we propose to investigate the dibaryon production in the process by utilizing the kaon beam with the typical momentum to be around 10 GeV, which may be available at COMPASS, OKA@U-70 and SPS@CERN. The cross sections for are estimated and in particular, the magnitude of the cross sections are evaluated to be several hundreds nanobarn at GeV. Considering that dibaryon dominantly decay into and , we also estimate the cross sections for and , where the dibaryon can be observed in the invariant mass distributions of and , respectively.
