Hong-Hao Ma, Juan-Juan Niu, Xu-Chang Zheng

TL;DR
This paper calculates the production rates of excited doubly heavy baryons via top-quark decays using NRQCD, analyzing P-wave contributions and estimating event numbers at the LHC.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed calculation of excited doubly heavy baryon production through top decays including P-wave states and their expected event yields at colliders.
Findings
P-wave contributions are about one order lower than S-wave.
Estimated 10^3-10^5 excited Ξ_bc events per year at LHC.
Estimated 10-10^3 excited Ξ_bb events per year at LHC.
Abstract
Within the framework of NRQCD, we calculate the production of excited doubly heavy baryons through the semi-inclusive production process , where or quark. The intermediate diquark state is in the excited -wave state, including and (0, 1 or 2) in both color antitriplet state and color sixtuplet state , that is, , , , and . We find that the contributions from the P-wave states are about one order lower than the S-wave contributions, and this conclusion is consistent with others. We…
