TL;DR
This paper reports precise measurements of hyperfine coupling constants and absolute energies of specific excited states in atomic cesium, providing data that aligns well with recent theoretical predictions.
Contribution
The study provides new, highly accurate experimental values for hyperfine constants and energy levels of cesium's 8p states, enhancing existing atomic data.
Findings
Hyperfine coupling constant for 8p 2P1/2 level is 42.933(8) MHz.
Derived new energy values for 8p 2P1/2 and 8p 2P3/2 states.
Results agree with recent theoretical calculations.
Abstract
We report measurements of the hyperfine coupling constant for the level of atomic cesium, Cs, with a relative uncertainty of 0.019\%. Our result is MHz, in good agreement with recent theoretical results. We also examine the hyperfine structure of the state, and derive new values for the state energies of the and states of cesium.
