TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel free-space multipass cell method for quasi-phase matching in nonlinear materials, significantly boosting second harmonic generation efficiency in crystalline quartz.
Contribution
The work presents a new free-space multipass cell approach for quasi-phase matching, achieving a 40-fold increase in SHG efficiency in crystalline quartz.
Findings
Achieved 40 times higher SHG efficiency in quartz.
Demonstrated feasibility of free-space multipass quasi-phase matching.
Introduced a new method for phase matching in nonlinear optics.
Abstract
We report a new approach to phase matching of nonlinear materials based on the free space multipass cells. This concept quasi-phase matches crystalline quartz and increases the second harmonic generation efficiency by a factor 40.
