Search for flavour-changing neutral current interactions of the top quark and the Higgs boson in events with a pair of $\tau$-leptons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV with the ATLAS detector
ATLAS Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for flavor-changing neutral current interactions involving the top quark and Higgs boson decaying into tau leptons, setting new upper limits on the branching ratios and effective couplings using 13 TeV proton-proton collision data from ATLAS.
Contribution
First search to set experimental limits on $tqH$ FCNC interactions with Higgs decaying to tau pairs at 13 TeV with ATLAS data.
Findings
Observed a 2.3σ excess above background.
Set upper limits on $t\to cH$ and $t\to uH$ branching ratios.
Derived constraints on Wilson coefficients of effective operators.
Abstract
A search for flavour-changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions involving a top quark, another up-type quark (, ), and a Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson decaying into a -lepton pair () is presented. The search is based on a dataset of collisions at TeV that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Two processes are considered: single top quark FCNC production in association with a Higgs boson (), and top quark pair production in which one of the top quarks decays into and the other decays into through the FCNC interactions. The search selects events with two hadronically decaying -lepton candidates () or at least one with an additional lepton (, ), as well as…
