TL;DR
This paper proves that the maximum oriented relative clique number for any planar graph is 10, resolving an open problem and confirming a conjecture in the field of oriented graph coloring.
Contribution
It establishes the exact maximum value of the oriented relative clique number for planar graphs, settling a previously open problem and confirming a conjecture.
Findings
Maximum oriented relative clique number for planar graphs is 10
Resolved an open problem in oriented graph coloring
Confirmed a conjecture by Sen (2014)
Abstract
In relation to oriented coloring and chromatic number, the parameter oriented relative clique number of an oriented graph , denoted by , is the main focus of this work. We solve an open problem mentioned in the recent survey on oriented coloring by Sopena (Discrete Mathematics 2016), and positively settle a conjecture due to Sen (PhD thesis 2014), by proving that the maximum value of is when is a planar graph.
