Alessandro Bacchetta, Francesco Giovanni Celiberto, Marco Radici,, Andrea Signori

TL;DR
This paper explores how the production of eta_b and eta_c mesons in proton collisions can be used to study gluon transverse-momentum dependent parton distributions, especially in unpolarized conditions and fixed-target experiments at the LHC.
Contribution
It provides a phenomenological analysis of gluon TMDs through eta_b,c production, highlighting their potential to reveal gluon dynamics in unpolarized proton collisions.
Findings
Eta_b,c production can probe gluon TMDs effectively.
Fixed-target experiments at LHC can access gluon polarization information.
The study offers predictions for different kinematic regimes.
Abstract
We present the potential of production in proton collisions to access the gluon transverse-momentum dependent parton distributions (TMDs). In particular, we explore the phenomenology of the unpolarized and linearly-polarized gluon TMDs in unpolarized collisions for different kinematic settings, and the potential of a fixed-target experiment at the LHC.
