TL;DR
This study reports the detection of quasi-elastic light scattering in BiFeO$_3$ across a wide temperature range, revealing temperature-dependent behavior and potential magnetic origins of the scattering components.
Contribution
First observation of quasi-elastic light scattering in BiFeO$_3$ using Raman spectroscopy over a broad temperature range.
Findings
QELS exhibits two components: narrow and broad.
Broad component's intensity and linewidth vary with temperature.
Broad QELS may originate from magnetic fluctuations.
Abstract
We observed quasi-elastic light scattering (QELS) in BiFeO using Raman spectroscopy over a temperature range of 300-860 K. The QELS has two components: a narrow and broad component. The temperature dependence of the intensity and linewidth of the broad component differed below and beyond the N\'eel point, and the broad QELS may have a magnetic origin.
