New Quantum Codes from CSS Codes
Markus Grassl

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel method for constructing new quantum CSS codes with improved parameters by reducing code length and distance, applicable to both symmetric and asymmetric quantum codes.
Contribution
It proposes a new propagation rule for CSS codes that enhances code parameters, offering a systematic way to generate better quantum codes from existing ones.
Findings
Constructs CSS codes with parameters $[ ![n-2,k,d-1] !]_{q}$ from $[ ![n,k,d] !]_{q}$
Achieves improved code parameters compared to traditional methods
Applicable to both symmetric and asymmetric quantum codes
Abstract
We present a new propagation rule for CSS codes. Starting with a CSS code , we construct a CSS code with parameters . In general, one would only obtain a code with parameters . The construction applies to asymmetric quantum codes from the CSS construction as well.
