Hongxin Dong, Peng Sun, Bin Yan

TL;DR
This paper proposes using the exclusive decay of the Higgs boson into quarkonia plus a photon to precisely measure the $H o\gamma\gamma$ coupling and resolve existing parameter degeneracies at the HL-LHC.
Contribution
It introduces a novel method employing Higgs rare decays to quarkonia plus a photon to constrain the $H o\gamma\gamma$ anomalous coupling, using NLO calculations within NRQCD.
Findings
Branching ratios can be significantly enhanced in non-SM-like parameter space.
Potential to break degeneracy in $H o\gamma\gamma$ measurements at HL-LHC.
Requires suppression of background and improved signal efficiency.
Abstract
It is well know that the precise measurement of can generate two degenerate parameter spaces of anomalous coupling. We propose to utilize the exclusive Higgs rare decays to break above mentioned degeneracy and further to constrain the anomalous coupling at the HL-LHC. We demonstrate that the branching ratios of can be significantly enhanced in the non-SM-like parameter space from measurement, due to the destructive interference between the direct and indirect production of in the SM. By applying the NRQCD factorization formalism, we calculate the partial decay widths of at the NLO accuracy of . We show that it is hopeful to break such degenerate parameter space at the HL-LHC if we can further highly suppress the…
