Contribution
The study presents a novel framework combining aspects and engagement practices to guide firms in gaining influence within OSS communities.
Findings
The CSF helps firms identify when and why influence is needed.
Engagement practices serve as a toolbox for building influence.
Validation shows the framework supports tailored community strategies.
