Implementacion de un sistema IoT de bajo costo para el monitoreo de la calidad del aire en El Salvador
Omar Otoniel Flores-Cortez, Ronny Adalberto Cortez, Veronica Rosa

TL;DR
This paper presents a low-cost IoT-based air quality monitoring system in El Salvador, enabling remote data collection and visualization to address limited existing monitoring stations.
Contribution
The work introduces a novel low-cost IoT prototype for air quality monitoring and an integrated platform for data collection, storage, and visualization in El Salvador.
Findings
Successfully developed a remote particulate pollution monitoring station.
Enabled web-based access to air quality data from any device.
Established an IoT platform connecting hardware with cloud storage and visualization.
Abstract
Environmental pollution is a factor that represents a significant health risk. In El Salvador, The entity in charge of monitoring air quality is the ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, currently said ministry only has 3 stations for monitoring air quality throughout the territory of the country. The main objective of this work was the application of internet of things techniques in the design and implementation of a station of remote particulate pollution monitoring in the surrounding air. As well as setting up an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for the deployment of the data collected by the remote station. The development methodology of this research was based on the Model of Reference Architecture for IoT systems, which has as based on the development of system prototypes based on the correct choice of components available and suitable for the specific environment or…
