Matrix differentiation with diagrammatic notation
Kenji Nakahira

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new diagrammatic notation for matrix differentiation that simplifies deriving formulas and is demonstrated through various examples.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel diagrammatic notation for matrix differentiation, making derivations more intuitive and accessible.
Findings
Simplifies derivation of matrix differentiation formulas
Demonstrates effectiveness through multiple examples
Provides an intuitive alternative to index notation
Abstract
We propose a diagrammatic notation for matrix differentiation. Our new notation enables us to derive formulas for matrix differentiation more easily than the usual matrix (or index) notation. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our notation through several examples.
