Pseudoscalar charmonium pair interactions via the Pomeron exchange mechanism
Chang Gong, Meng-Chuan Du, Qiang Zhao

TL;DR
This paper investigates the near-threshold interactions of pseudoscalar heavy quarkonium pairs, like di-$\eta_c$, using a coupled-channel approach with Pomeron exchange, revealing potential resonance poles and guiding experimental searches for fully-heavy tetraquarks.
Contribution
It introduces a coupled-channel model for pseudoscalar quarkonium pairs with Pomeron exchange, predicting near-threshold resonances and differences from vector quarkonium interactions.
Findings
Pomeron exchange drives near-threshold heavy quarkonium interactions.
Resonance poles are shifted closer to thresholds compared to di-$J/\psi$ spectrum.
Enhancements in di-$\eta_c$ spectrum differ from di-$J/\psi$, aiding tetraquark studies.
Abstract
Following the observation of the fully-heavy tetraquark candidates and possible in the di- spectrum by the LHCb Collaboration, we investigate the near-threshold dynamics of the pseudoscalar quarkonium pairs in a coupled-channel approach in the di- channel. We show that the Pomeron exchange mechanism should be a general dynamics in the near-threshold heavy quarkonium pair interactions. In the di- channel, a coupled-channel system involving the di-, - and di- interactions can be established. Their -wave interactions near threshold via the Pomeron exchange potential can produce near-threshold resonance poles similar to the di-, - and di- coupled channels. Interestingly, we find here that the pole positions are more shifted to the corresponding thresholds and turn out…
