TL;DR
This study reports the observation of a new excited charmed baryon, named Lambda_c(2910)+, in B meson decays, with measurements of its mass, width, and branching fractions, improving understanding of charmed baryon spectroscopy.
Contribution
First evidence of a new excited Lambda_c baryon in B decays, with detailed measurements of its properties and decay modes, expanding the charmed baryon spectrum.
Findings
Discovery of a structure at 2913.8 MeV/c^2 with 4.2σ significance.
Measured mass and width of Lambda_c(2910)+ as 2913.8 MeV/c^2 and 51.8 MeV.
Branching fraction products for Lambda_c(2910)+ decays are quantified.
Abstract
We present the study of decays based on events collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The candidates are reconstructed via their decay to and decays to and final states. The corresponding branching fractions are measured to be and , which are consistent with the world average values with improved precision. A new structure is found in the spectrum with a significance of including…
