TL;DR
This paper explores higher-order nonlinear field theories, demonstrating the existence of long-lived, spherically symmetric oscillons in generalized potentials, including a $$ potential, without the need for parameter fine-tuning.
Contribution
It introduces a generalized framework for oscillons in higher-order field theories, extending previous studies to new potentials and showing their long-lived nature.
Findings
Existence of 3+1 spherically symmetric oscillons in generalized potentials
Oscillons exhibit significantly large lifetimes without fine-tuning
Extension of oscillon studies to $$ and generalized double-well potentials
Abstract
Nonlinear field theories produce unstable but long-lived configurations known as oscillons. These structures have been studied with asymmetric and symmetric double-well potentials and extended to other forms of potentials. In the present work, we examine the consequences of considering higher-order field theories, where we have used a generalization of the symmetric double-well potential and a potential. Consequently, we have found spherically symmetric oscillons with significantly large lifetimes without parameter fine-tuning.
