Adam Chapman

TL;DR
This paper improves the upper bound for the essential dimension of certain central simple algebras in characteristic 2, reducing it from 10 to 9, thus advancing understanding in algebraic structures.
Contribution
It provides a refined upper bound for the essential dimension of degree 8, exponent 2 central simple algebras in characteristic 2, improving previous results.
Findings
Upper bound reduced from 10 to 9
Enhanced understanding of algebraic structures in characteristic 2
Refined bounds for essential dimension
Abstract
The goal of this note is to reduce the existing upper bound for the essential dimension of central simple algebras of degree 8 and exponent 2 over fields of characteristic 2 from 10 to 9.
