Remarks on the group-theoretical foundations of particle physics
Robert A. Wilson

TL;DR
This paper suggests using the group SL(4,R) as a broader mathematical foundation for particle physics, aiming to derive the standard model as an approximation within this framework.
Contribution
It introduces SL(4,R) as a generalization of the Dirac group SL(2,C) for potential development of a more comprehensive particle physics theory.
Findings
SL(4,R) can serve as a basis for a generalized particle physics framework
The standard model may emerge as an approximation from this broader theory
Provides a new mathematical foundation for unifying particle physics theories
Abstract
I propose the group SL(4,R) as a generalisation of the Dirac group SL(2,C) used in quantum mechanics, as a possible basis on which to build a more general theory from which the standard model of particle physics might be derived as an approximation in an appropriate limit.
