TL;DR
This paper reports the calculation of next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD corrections for heavy-quark production, enhancing theoretical precision for top and bottom quark processes in particle physics.
Contribution
The authors implement NNLO QCD corrections in the extsc{Matrix} framework for stable top quarks and extend calculations to bottom quark production and potential top-quark decay and associated Higgs production.
Findings
NNLO corrections improve prediction accuracy for heavy-quark production.
Updated extsc{Matrix} enables multidifferential predictions for top quarks.
Extension to $tar tH$ processes discussed.
Abstract
We present the calculation of QCD radiative corrections to heavy-quark production at NNLO. The calculation is implemented in an updated version of \textsc{Matrix}, which allows us to obtain multidifferential predictions for stable top quarks. We also report on the NNLO calculation for production and comment on the inclusion of top-quark decays and of the extension of our results to .
