Marco Calz\'a, Alessandro Casalino, Lorenzo Sebastiani

TL;DR
This paper explores static, pseudo-spherically symmetric solutions in semi-classical General Relativity with trace anomaly, revealing vacuum wormholes that violate energy conditions and analyzing black hole solutions.
Contribution
It introduces new vacuum wormhole metrics enabled by trace anomaly and studies their properties alongside black hole solutions in semi-classical gravity.
Findings
Wormholes can exist in vacuum due to trace anomaly.
Trace anomaly affects black hole solutions.
Wormholes violate null energy condition.
Abstract
Local solutions are a vivid and long-living topic in gravitational physics. We consider exact static pseudo-spherically symmetric solutions of semi-classical Einstein's equations in presence of the trace anomaly contribution. We investigate black hole solutions and propose new metrics describing traversable wormholes. Thanks to the trace anomaly, wormholes are realized in the vacuum and, nevertheless, violate the null energy condition.
