Regarding the possibility to observe the LHCb hidden-charm strange pentaquark $P_{cs}(4459)^0$ in antikaon-induced $J/\psi$ meson production on protons and nuclei near the $J/\psi$$\Lambda$ production threshold
E. Ya. Paryev

TL;DR
This study explores the potential to observe the hidden-charm strange pentaquark $P_{cs}(4459)^0$ via near-threshold $J/ au$ meson production in antikaon-induced reactions on protons and nuclei, aiming to identify its existence and decay properties.
Contribution
It provides theoretical predictions for $J/ au$ production observables sensitive to the $P_{cs}(4459)^0$ resonance, considering various decay scenarios and spin-parity assignments, guiding future experimental searches.
Findings
Combined observables show sensitivity to different decay scenarios.
Predictions suggest measurable signals at J-PARC for the pentaquark.
Analysis can help confirm the existence and properties of $P_{cs}(4459)^0$.
Abstract
We study the near-threshold meson production on protons and nuclei by considering incoherent direct non-resonant and two-step resonant charmonium production processes. We calculate the absolute excitation functions, energy and momentum distributions for the non-resonant, resonant and for the combined (non-resonant plus resonant) production of mesons off protons as well as off carbon and tungsten target nuclei at near-threshold incident antikaon energies by considering these elementary production channels as well as by assuming the spin-parity assignment of the hidden-charm resonance with strangeness as within six different scenarios for the branching ratio of the decay . We show that the…
