Measurement of the production of charm jets tagged with ${\rm D^0}$ mesons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 and 13 TeV
ALICE Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper measures charm jet production tagged with ${ m D^0}$ mesons in proton-proton collisions at 5.02 and 13 TeV, comparing results with QCD-based models to improve understanding of charm quark behavior in high-energy collisions.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed measurement of charm jet production with ${ m D^0}$ tagging at multiple energies and jet resolutions, testing QCD predictions against experimental data.
Findings
Good overall agreement with QCD models
Discrepancies observed at low jet transverse momentum
Results help refine charm quark production models
Abstract
The measurement of the production of charm jets, identified by the presence of a meson in the jet constituents, is presented in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of = 5.02 and 13 TeV with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The mesons were reconstructed from their hadronic decay and the respective charge conjugate. Jets were reconstructed from -meson candidates and charged particles using the anti- algorithm, in the jet transverse momentum range GeV/, pseudorapidity , and with the jet resolution parameters = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6. The distribution of the jet momentum fraction carried by a meson along the jet axis () was measured in the range in four ranges of the jet…
