TL;DR
This paper assesses the feasibility of experimentally studying the rare weak decay of the $D_{s}^{ ext{*}}$ meson into $ ext{phi} ext{pi}$, estimating its branching ratio and potential event counts at future collider experiments.
Contribution
It provides the first theoretical estimate of the $D_{s}^{ ext{*}} o ext{phi} ext{pi}$ decay branching ratio using the factorization approach and evaluates experimental prospects.
Findings
Branching ratio estimated at around 10^{-7}
Potential for thousands of events at $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders
Potential for millions of events at hadron colliders
Abstract
The current knowledge on the meson are very limited. Besides the dominant electromagnetic decays, the weak decays are legal and offer the valuable opportunities to explore the wanted meson. In this paper, the decay was studied with the factorization approach. It is found that the branching ratio , which corresponds to several thousands of events at the collider experiments including STCF, SuperKEKB, CEPC and FCC-ee, and several millions of events at the hadron collider experiments, such as LHCb@HL-LHC. It is feasible to experimentally study the weak decay in the future, even considering the identification efficiency.
