Jason Aebischer, Benjam\'in Grinstein

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new method for calculating the $B_c$ meson decay rate within the Standard Model by combining experimental data with operator product expansion, reducing theoretical uncertainties.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel approach that uses experimental data and operator product expansion to improve decay rate predictions for $B_c$ mesons.
Findings
Reduced theoretical uncertainties in $B_c$ decay rate predictions
Effective cancellation of free-quark contributions in decay rate differences
Enhanced agreement with experimental data
Abstract
The Standard Model decay rate of the meson is discussed together with a novel approach based on the usage of experimental data in combination with an operator product expansion. In the new method differences of and meson decay rates are considered, for which the free-quark contributions drop out, leading to a reduction of the theory prediction.
