TL;DR
This paper reports the synthesis and characterization of a new superconducting compound, Bi$_2$PdPt, which exhibits bulk superconductivity at 4.0 K and features topological surface states.
Contribution
It introduces a new Bi-Pd based superconductor with detailed experimental analysis confirming its bulk superconductivity and structural properties.
Findings
Superconducting transition temperature T_C = 4.0 K
Crystallizes in hexagonal P6_3/mmc structure
Exhibits topological surface states
Abstract
We report synthesis and properties of superconducting BiPdPt, a new member of Bi-Pd based compounds known for their simultaneous existence of topological surfaces states and superconductivity. It crystallizes in a hexagonal structure having space group . A detailed investigation of the properties via transport, magnetization, and specific heat measurements confirm bulk superconductivity with transition temperature, \textit{T} = 4.0(1) K in moderate coupling limit.
