Yike Xu

TL;DR
This paper reports preliminary measurements of the transverse spin transfer to $\\Lambda$ and $\\overline{\Lambda}$ hyperons in polarized proton-proton collisions at 200 GeV, providing insights into quark transversity and fragmentation functions.
Contribution
It presents the first measurement of $D_{TT}$ for hyperons in transversely polarized $p$+$p$ collisions at RHIC, using a larger 2015 dataset to improve statistical precision.
Findings
Preliminary $D_{TT}$ results versus transverse momentum and hyperon fractional momentum.
Data collected at $\\sqrt{s} = 200$ GeV with increased statistics in 2015.
Insights into hyperon spin transfer mechanisms in polarized proton collisions.
Abstract
The transverse spin transfer, , of and hyperons in + collisions is expected to be sensitive to the and quark transversity distributions in the proton and to the transversely polarized fragmentation functions. The STAR experiment has published the first measurement of the transverse spin transfer of and hyperons in transversely polarized + collisions at = 200 GeV within pseudo-rapidity and for the transverse momenta up to 8 GeV/ based on the data taken in 2012. In 2015, a data sample of + collisions at = 200 GeV, about two times larger than the 2012 data, was collected. This contribution presents the preliminary results of the transverse spin transfer, , of and hyperon versus transverse momentum and fractional…
