Anik Halder, Alexandre Barreira

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new theoretical model for the integrated shear 3-point correlation function that accurately accounts for baryonic effects on small scales, improving cosmological parameter constraints from cosmic shear data.
Contribution
The authors develop an accurate small-scale model for the integrated shear 3-point correlation function that incorporates baryonic feedback effects via the nonlinear matter bispectrum response functions.
Findings
Model reproduces small-scale $oldsymbol{ ext{ extit{zeta}}}_{ ext{ extit{ iny $oldsymbol{ extpm}$}}}$ in simulations
Including $oldsymbol{ ext{ extit{zeta}}}_{ ext{ extit{ iny $oldsymbol{ extpm}$}}}$ improves cosmological constraints by 20-40%
Baryonic feedback impacts can be effectively modeled through the nonlinear matter power spectrum
Abstract
The integrated shear 3-point correlation function is a higher-order statistic of the cosmic shear field that describes the modulation of the 2-point correlation function by long-wavelength features in the field. Here, we introduce a new theoretical model to calculate that is accurate on small angular scales, and that allows to take baryonic feedback effects into account. Our model builds on the realization that the small-scale is dominated by the nonlinear matter bispectrum in the squeezed limit, which can be evaluated accurately using the nonlinear matter power spectrum and its first-order response functions to density and tidal field perturbations. We demonstrate the accuracy of our model by showing that it reproduces the small-scale measured in simulated cosmic shear maps. The impact of baryonic feedback enters…
