Comments on Summing over Bordisms in TQFT
Anindya Banerjee, Gregory W. Moore

TL;DR
This paper examines the summation over bordisms in TQFT related to quantum gravity issues, revealing a notable splitting formula for total amplitudes that could impact understanding of quantum topology.
Contribution
It provides a detailed discussion of summing over bordisms in TQFT and introduces a novel splitting formula for total amplitudes.
Findings
Identification of a splitting formula for total amplitudes in TQFT
Insights into the role of bordisms in quantum gravity models
Clarification of the mathematical structure underlying sum over bordisms
Abstract
Recent works in quantum gravity, motivated by the factorization problem and baby universes, have considered sums over bordisms with fixed boundaries in topological quantum field theory (TQFT). We discuss this construction and observe a curious splitting formula for the total amplitude.
