TL;DR
This paper introduces band-trellis enumerative sphere shaping to reduce energy fluctuations in channel inputs, resulting in significant SNR improvements and higher data rates in single-span systems.
Contribution
It proposes a novel shaping method that effectively limits energy variations, enhancing performance over traditional sphere shaping techniques.
Findings
0.74 dB SNR gain demonstrated
Up to 9% increase in data rates
Effective reduction of energy variations
Abstract
Band-trellis enumerative sphere shaping is proposed to decrease the energy variations in channel input sequences. Against sphere shaping, 0.74 dB SNR gain and up to 9% increase in data rates are demonstrated for single-span systems.
