An automatized Identity and Access Management system for IoT combining Self-Sovereign Identity and smart contracts
Montassar Naghmouchi, Hella Kaffel, Maryline Laurent

TL;DR
This paper presents a blockchain-based identity and access management system for IoT, exemplified with smart vehicles, integrating self-sovereign identity and smart contracts across Ethereum and Hyperledger Indy.
Contribution
It introduces an interoperable blockchain framework combining Ethereum and Hyperledger Indy for IoT identity management using self-sovereign identity models.
Findings
Successful integration of Ethereum and Hyperledger Indy for IoT
Demonstration of self-sovereign identity in smart vehicle use-case
Enhanced portability and security in IoT access management
Abstract
Nowadays, open standards for self-sovereign identity and access management enable portable solutions that are following the requirements of IoT systems. This paper proposes a blockchain-based identity and access management system for IoT -- specifically smart vehicles -- as an example of use-case, showing two interoperable blockchains, Ethereum and Hyperledger Indy, and a self-sovereign identity model.
