Top quark production in association with a vector boson at the LHC
Joscha Knolle (for the ATLAS & CMS Collaborations)

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent measurements of top quark production with vector bosons at the LHC, testing the electroweak couplings and comparing results to Standard Model predictions.
Contribution
It presents the latest inclusive and differential cross section measurements of top quark pairs and single top quarks with photons or Z bosons from ATLAS and CMS.
Findings
Measurements are consistent with Standard Model predictions.
Differential cross sections provide detailed tests of electroweak couplings.
Results improve constraints on new physics beyond the Standard Model.
Abstract
Cross section measurements of top quark production in association with a vector boson in proton-proton collisions at at the CERN LHC provide an important probe of the electroweak top quark couplings. In this contribution, recent results of the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations for the measurement of top quark pair and single top quark production in association with a photon or a Z boson are presented. Both inclusive and differential cross section measurements are performed, and the results are compared to state-of-the-art predictions in the standard model of particle physics.
