TL;DR
This paper analyzes four-body B meson decays involving phi and K* resonances using perturbative QCD, accounting for S and P wave contributions, and predicts CP asymmetries and triple product asymmetries consistent with experimental data.
Contribution
It provides the first predictions of S wave induced triple product asymmetries in these decays, incorporating both S and P wave backgrounds in a comprehensive perturbative QCD analysis.
Findings
Sizable S wave contributions match experimental observations.
Predicted branching ratios align with previous predictions and measurements.
Large fake asymmetries suggest significant final state interactions.
Abstract
We analyse the four-body decays in the perturbative QCD approach, where the invariant mass of () system is limited in a window of MeV ( MeV) around the mass.In addition to the P wave resonances, two important S wave backgrounds in the selected invariant mass region are also accounted for. Angular momentum conservation allows six helicity amplitudes to contribute, including three P waves, two single S waves, and one double S wave. We calculated the branching ratio for each component and found sizable S wave contributions, coincide with the experimental observation. The obtained branching ratios of are comparable with the previous predictions and support the measurements, whereas the predicted is…
