Ruta: Dis-aggregated routing system over multi-cloud
Kevin Fang

TL;DR
Ruta is a unified, cloud-native SDN platform that leverages segment routing, crypto, and NAT traversal over UDP to enable efficient, low-latency multi-cloud traffic engineering and application integration worldwide.
Contribution
It introduces a novel multi-cloud SDN system with integrated encapsulation and transport capabilities for improved global traffic management.
Findings
Nearly zero loss in data transmission
Latency less than 200ms worldwide
Seamless multi-cloud deployment
Abstract
Over the years, the SDN evolution create multiple overlay technologies which is inefficient and hard to deploy end-to-end traffic engineering services, Ruta is designed as an unified encapsulation with Segment Routing, Crypto and NAT-Traversal capabilities over UDP. Ruta could be deployed as a cloud native SDN platform globally over multi-cloud and integrated with each applications on transport layer, which provide nearly zero loss and almost less than 200ms latency to access anywhere in the world over internet.
