TL;DR
This paper reports preliminary lattice QCD calculations of the pseudoscalar transition form factors for the $ ext{eta}$ and $ ext{eta'}$ mesons, crucial for estimating the hadronic light-by-light contribution to the muon g-2.
Contribution
It provides new lattice QCD results for $ ext{eta}$ and $ ext{eta'}$ transition form factors using staggered quarks on $N_f=2+1+1$ ensembles, focusing on the $ ext{eta}$ meson.
Findings
Extraction of $ ext{eta}$ and $ ext{eta'}$ meson masses.
Preliminary results for $ ext{eta}$ transition form factor.
Focus on $ ext{eta}$ meson without mixing effects.
Abstract
We present preliminary results from our calculation of the pseudoscalar transition form factors of the and mesons using staggered quarks on gauge ensembles generated by the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal collaboration. These transition form factors are an important input for the hadronic light-by-light contribution to the muon . We first elaborate on the extraction of the masses of the and mesons, that mix under the dynamics of QCD. Thereafter, we show our preliminary results for the pseudoscalar transition form factors, focusing on the meson in the absence of mixing.
