Sisi Miao, Lukas Rapp, and Laurent Schmalen

TL;DR
This paper introduces a low-complexity soft-aided decoding method for product codes that uses dynamic reliability scores, achieving significant coding gains over traditional hard-decision decoders.
Contribution
It presents a novel decoding approach combining dynamic reliability scores with error-and-erasure decoding for product codes.
Findings
Coding gains of up to 1.2 dB over hard-decision decoders
Reduced decoding complexity
Effective use of dynamic reliability scores
Abstract
We propose a novel soft-aided low-complexity decoder for product codes based on dynamic reliability scores and error-and-erasure decoding. We observe coding gains of up to 1.2 dB compared to conventional hard-decision decoders.
