Black holes with spindles at the horizon
Suvendu Giri

TL;DR
This paper constructs new supersymmetric black hole solutions with spindle horizons in six-dimensional supergravity, computes their holographic free energy and entropy, and suggests dual three-dimensional SCFTs on spindles, revealing novel topological twists.
Contribution
It introduces novel $AdS_4$ and $AdS_2$ solutions with spindle horizons in F(4) gauged supergravity, including topological and anti twists, and connects these to dual SCFTs and entropy functionals.
Findings
Holographic free energy matches entropy from extremization.
Solutions realize topological and anti twists.
Some solutions embed in four-dimensional supergravity.
Abstract
We construct and solutions in F(4) gauged supergravity in six dimensions, where is a two dimensional manifold of non-constant curvature with conical singularities at its two poles, called a spindle, and is a constant curvature Riemann surface of genus g. We find that the first solution realizes a "topologically topological twist", while the second class of solutions gives rise to an "anti twist". We compute the holographic free energy of the solution and find that it matches the entropy computed by extremizing an entropy functional that is constructed by gluing gravitational blocks. For the solution, we find that the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy is reproduced by extremizing an appropriately defined entropy functional, which leads us to conjecture that…
