Mirror Symmetry, Born Geometry and String Theory
Per Berglund, Tristan H\"ubsch, Djordje Minic

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that metastring theory, a formulation of string theory with doubled and non-commutative geometry, inherently incorporates mirror symmetry, revealing deeper geometric structures in string models.
Contribution
It shows that metastring theory naturally includes mirror symmetry, connecting T-duality, non-commutative geometry, and doubled spacetime frameworks.
Findings
Metastring theory describes a chirally doubled, non-commutative target space.
Mirror symmetry is automatically embedded in metastring formulation.
The framework unifies various string theory models through background and projection techniques.
Abstract
All known string theory models may be obtained as partial fermionization, projection and background Ans\"atze from the original, purely bosonic string theory. The latter theory in turn has been recently shown to describe a chirally and non-commutatively doubled and manifestly T-dual target spacetime. We show herein that this, so-called metastring theory automatically includes mirror symmetry.
